Autism Counselling
As I am from a neurodivergent family with many presentations of Autism and other neurodivergencies, as well as having many years of experience of working with autistic clients in my psychotherapy and counselling practices, I have developed a keen interest in the topic. I am also a neurodivergent person (ADHD neurotype) and can therefore offer my autistic clients a high level of empathy, pattern recognition and creativity in developing their own strategies. This enables my autistic clients to empower themselves to remove the barriers they are facing in their environment.
In recent years mental health professionals specialised in Autism around the world have started to define Autism and ADHD as a difference rather than a disorder and this is also my approach. It is called the neuro-affirmative approach. My goal is to empower autistic individuals to develop a loving understanding of their personal traits and connected needs.

Working with autistic adults and children
Working with autistic clients, my approach is centered on creating a supportive and non-judgmental space where neurodiversity is fully embraced. I work collaboratively with each client, helping them to better understand their unique experiences, while also focusing on how communication, emotional responses, and relationships can be enhanced. I assist clients in identifying internal resources to foster personal growth, emotional regulation, and social interaction. My approach is flexible and adapted to each individual’s needs, incorporating sensory awareness and an appreciation for the challenges and strengths of living as a neurodivergent person. I aim to empower autistic clients to build stronger relationships, navigate societal expectations, and live authentically within their neurodiverse identity.
